Is it permissible to take diet pills if they are approved by the Ministry of Health?

A person must not harm himself, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There shall be no harm or reciprocating harm." If it is proven by reliable doctors that consuming something leads to harm, then it is not permissible to consume it, even if it was originally lawful. Therefore, if the pills are not intoxicating or narcotic and do not involve harm, there is no objection to consuming them, especially if they are beneficial for the body.
