What is the amount of blood money (diyyah) for intentional and semi-intentional killing in our present era, and is it permissible to take millions as blood money, and does blood money take into account the circumstances of the victim's family?

The blood money (Diyah) is legally fixed at 100 camels, and it is not permissible to increase or decrease it. Estimates of its monetary value have varied with changing times. In one era, it was 800 French Riyals, then it rose to much higher amounts in modern times, reaching 300 or 400 thousand Riyals in Saudi Arabia. If the killing is accidental or quasi-intentional, the guardians of the victim are only entitled to the specified Diyah. However, in cases of intentional killing, the guardians of the victim may demand more than the Diyah in exchange for waiving retribution (Qisas), and this additional amount is a settlement, not an obligatory Diyah.
