"The is a recommended , not an obligation, according to the majority of scholars. There is no harm in delaying it beyond the seventh day, and it is not missed if the seventh day passes; rather, it should be slaughtered after that whenever it becomes easy. It is recommended to perform it on the seventh day; if that is missed, then on the fourteenth; if that is missed, then on the twenty-first. After that, it can be slaughtered on any day desired."
