How can a mother guide her children and husband—who are asking about hijab, the virtue of the mother, and prayer—given that she observes hijab but not the شرعي (religiously prescribed) one, and that she cannot take her children out of the evangelical school due to her husband?

The problem with foreign schools goes beyond the ethical and behavioral aspects to include intellectual and creedal dimensions. The solution to this problem is not limited to secondary matters such as hijab and prayer but requires establishing the principles of sound faith and creed, and correcting the Islamic perception of existence and life.

One must begin by establishing the root of religion: being content with Allah as Lord, Islam as a religion, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a prophet and messenger. This entails loving Allah, obeying Him, and emulating the Messenger (peace be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “He has tasted the sweetness of faith who is content with Allah as Lord, Islam as a religion, and Muhammad as a Messenger.” He also said: “There are three qualities, whoever has them will taste the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than anything else; that he loves a person only for the sake of Allah; and that he hates to return to disbelief as he would hate to be thrown into the fire.”
