Is it permissible to marry a woman of the People of the Book who has embraced Islam, knowing that she was unchaste before her conversion, and that leaving her might prevent her from entering Islam?

If a girl converts to Islam and becomes righteous, and is not known for persisting in zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), then it is good to marry her to protect her chastity. However, it is not permissible to marry her if she insists on zina or remains in her previous religion. If marriage is not possible, then the relationship with her must be severed. If she does not embrace Islam because you left her, there is no sin upon you. It is preferable to direct a righteous woman to her to explain Islam to her, for Allah guiding someone through you is better than red camels.
