What is the ruling on praying in a new mosque connected to an old mosque that contains shrines and graves, given the presence of unraised traces of graves in the passageway between them?

Prayer is valid in a mosque if there is no prominent grave within it, and the grave or graves are outside, separated from the mosque by a wall. This is the predominant fatwa. Some jurists, however, are of the opinion that the mosque wall alone is not sufficient. As for the mere possibility of unknown graves existing beneath the mosque, it does not affect the validity of prayer, as the default assumption is their non-existence. The ruling applies to visible graves, not hidden ones. If a grave is not visible and its location is unknown, no harm results from it.
