Who is responsible for the blood money of the man and woman who were killed, and how should their estate be distributed, given that they only have a son and a daughter?

Killing is either premeditated, semi-premeditated, or accidental. Premeditated killing necessitates retribution (qisas), unless the victim's guardians pardon the killer. As for semi-premeditated or accidental killing, an independent blood money (diyah) is obligatory for each victim, and it is borne by the killer's 'aqilah (male agnatic relatives). If a settlement on blood money is reached in a case of premeditated killing, then it becomes immediately obligatory for the killer to pay from their own wealth. If the deceased have only a son and a daughter, the inheritance, including the blood money, is distributed with two shares for the son and one share for the daughter.
