What is the Shar’i ruling regarding a wife remaining with a husband who dislikes her family, doubts her honor, neglects her rights, ignores her, does not pray, and commits immoral acts, especially since she has been seeing dreams that suggest an improvement in their relationship, and her family insists that she not return to him unless he apologizes and asks for her back from her family?

One must be patient with the difficulties of marital relations and try to persuade the husband to change his behavior and reconcile, while reminding him of the obligation to treat his wife with kindness.

What the husband does, by slandering the wife's honor and her family, is forbidden and one of the gravest sins. Allah Almighty said: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne slander and a manifest sin."

The wife should continue to advise her husband gently and frequently supplicate.

It is not permissible for the family to force the wife to divorce, nor to incite it, as long as she wishes to return to her husband.
