Does the wife have the right to demand personal allowance from the husband, and is she entitled to take her home furniture, and who is responsible for her maintenance according to the Jordanian Personal Status Law, in the event she leaves the home due to her husband beating her?

A wife leaving her home due to severe domestic violence is not considered disloyalty (nushuz) that would forfeit her right to financial support (nafaqa). The husband's statement regarding his hitting her due to disloyalty is accepted, but this does not relieve him of the obligation of financial support and clothing. His statement in this regard is accepted if he is not known to be excessive in hitting; otherwise, he would not be believed and would be punished. As for her furniture and other rights, the husband is not entitled to prevent her from them, even if she is disloyal. It is preferable to present the case to a Sharia judge.
