Is it true that the major signs of the Hour are on the verge of appearing?

The major signs of the Hour are on the verge of appearing, though their exact time is not specified. The nearness of the Hour has been mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah. Allah Almighty says: "The Hour has approached, and the moon has split [in two]" (Al-Qamar: 1), and "Approached for the people is their account, while they are in [persistent] heedlessness, turning away" (Al-Anbiya: 1), and "The Approaching Day has approached. No one besides Allah can avert it" (An-Najm: 57-58). Its knowledge is with Allah alone; none can manifest it at its time but Him, and it will come suddenly.
