Is it permissible to adopt Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen's fatwa that ritual purity (tahara) is attained solely by the cessation of bleeding, even if the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayda') does not appear, due to the difficulty caused by its delayed appearance, knowing that the questioner considers brownish discharge (al-kudrah) to be menstruation and not yellowish discharge (as-sufrah)?

Some scholars hold that yellowish and brownish discharges are not menstruation at all. However, our relied-upon opinion is that yellowish and brownish discharges connected to blood are considered menstruation, so long as their total duration combined with the blood does not exceed fifteen days. If you are knowledgeable in methods of deduction, then follow what the evidence shows you. But if you are an ordinary person, then emulate a scholar whose knowledge and piety you trust. Refraining from prayer when yellowish and brownish discharges are present, given the ruling that they are menstruation, is an act of obedience to Allah. You can worship Allah through other types of acts of worship.
