Only a discerning, truthful, and experienced person who knows both her outward and inward qualities should be asked about her—someone who is not biased towards her, thereby over-praising her, nor envious of her, thereby diminishing her. Sitting or going out with her under the pretext of getting to know her is not among the permissible methods of getting acquainted, as this is a gateway to temptation and its outcome is deception.
