What is the amount that must be given in charity for the weight of a newborn's hair seven months after birth, and should two sheep or one be slaughtered if a sheep was already slaughtered for him at birth and you wish to slaughter again?

The Sadaqah (charity) should be the weight of the newborn's hair in silver, and it is permissible to appraise the silver and give its value in charity.

If the hair was shaved at the time of the Aqiqah (sacrificial offering for a newborn) and its weight is known, then that amount should be given in charity. Otherwise, its weight on the day it was shaved should be estimated, and that amount should be given now. If it has not been shaved, then it should be shaved and its weight given in charity.

The hair of a male newborn's head should be shaved on the seventh day, and its weight in silver should be given in charity. As for a female, her head should not be shaved.

It is preferable for the Aqiqah to be on the seventh day. If that is missed, then on the fourteenth. If that is missed, then on the twenty-first. If that is missed, then at any time. There is no harm in slaughtering it on the sixth, fifth, tenth, or twelfth day, but the preferred times are the seventh, fourteenth, and twenty-first.

One sheep is sufficient for the Aqiqah of a male, but two sheep are preferable.

If the family gives permission for the sheep to be slaughtered, it is considered as one (Aqiqah). However, if they do so without permission, it is safer not to consider it.
