Is it permissible for a wife to refuse to return home and obey her father in that, and is she sinful for not returning?

It is not permissible for a wife to disobey her husband in what he commands her, such as returning to her home and leaving university. Rather, she must obey him, for obedience to the husband in what is right takes precedence over obedience to parents. Ibn Taymiyyah said: "When a woman marries, her husband has more authority over her than her parents, and obedience to her husband is more incumbent upon her." Al-Mardawi said: "She is not obliged to obey her parents in separating from her husband, nor in visiting or the like; rather, obedience to her husband is more deserving."
