Most scholars are of the opinion that delaying the make-up of fasts without a valid excuse necessitates making up the fasts and expiation (feeding one poor person for each day). With a valid excuse, it only necessitates making up the fasts. It is permissible to feed the poor before making up the fasts, or after, or concurrently. If there is a continuous excuse, then paying the expiation for breaking the fast and the expiation for delaying (750 grams for each day) is sufficient. There is no need to make up the days missed before puberty, and consecutive make-up fasting is not required.
