What is the authenticity of the hadith: "He who does not know the Imam of his time dies the death of an unbeliever"?

The hadith that the Shiites use as proof, "He who dies without knowing the Imam of his time dies a death of ignorance," has no chain of narration or reliable path; rather, it is a lie against the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Sheikh al-Albani denied the authenticity of this wording, and they confirmed that the authentic hadith reported in Muslim is, "He who dies without a pledge of allegiance on his neck dies a death of ignorance." This indicates the obligation to obey the ruler and not to rebel against him, which contradicts the methodology of the Shiites.
