The answer

The religion of Islam is a religion of guidance, mercy, and justice. This is evident in the verses of the Quran and the of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Allah, the Almighty, said: "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly" (Al-Mumtahanah: 8). And He, glorified be He, said: "And if they incline to peace, then incline to it also and rely upon Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing" (Al-Anfal: 61). Examples of this include the Prophet's acceptance of a gift from the Jewish king of Eilat and his mortgaging his shield to a Jew, which confirms tolerance, justice, and kindness towards those who are peaceful with Muslims.
