Is it permissible for a father to bequeath a third of his wealth to one of his children to the exclusion of the others?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded justice among children in giving gifts and forbade favoring some over others, unless there was a compelling reason such as need, disability, a large family, or seeking knowledge. A will is similar to a gift; it is not permissible to favor some children over others in it. If the father does so, the will is suspended pending the permission of the adult, sound-minded heirs upon the testator's death. The proof for this is: "There is no will for an heir."
