Is memorizing the Quran before the dawn (Fajr) prayer considered part of the night vigil (Qiyam al-Layl)?

Simply reciting the Quran is not considered part of Qiyam al-Layl, which is a prayer involving bowing (ruku') and prostration (sujud). However, reciting the Quran at this time has a special virtue, in addition to the virtue of being engaged in memorizing the Quran.
