Ibn Abdul-Hadi was not preceded or agreed with by anyone on his statement. Ibn Kathir, Al-Dhahabi, and Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned that Ibn Hazm agreed with the Jahmiyyah in denying the attributes due to his being influenced by logic. However, he was a supporter of the and, in his book "Al-Fasl," he demolished the sayings of the Jahmiyyah. Ahl al-Sunnah believe that Allah is All-Knowing with knowledge, speaks with a voice, and sees with an eye. Ibn Hazm erred in the issue of attributes due to his severe interpretation of them, caused by his influence from logic. Ibn Hazm's book "Al-Muhalla" is one of the best books of Islam in terms of knowledge, and major imams praised it. Ibn Hazm was an Imam, a memorizer of , a jurist, and a theologian, possessing extreme intelligence and abundant knowledge, deeply versed in transmission. However, in some issues, he mixed philosophy and the sayings of the Mu'tazilah regarding attributes, which led some jurists to criticize him.
