What should a female student do who is studying in a health college and wishes to join a center for memorizing the Holy Quran that requires residence and payment of high fees, after her father agreed and her mother refused due to the fees?

There is no harm in a female student residing at the center if it is secure and the female students adhere to Islamic etiquette, and there is no fear of temptation. Obedience to parents is among the most emphasized duties, unless it causes harm to the child. Obedience to the mother takes precedence over obedience to the father when there is a conflict regarding a legitimate purpose. It is permissible to register the girl in the center with the father's approval and without the mother's permission if the mother is not convinced, unless the mother provides a reason or benefit for her refusal other than what has been mentioned.
