Have the three mentioned तलाक (divorces) occurred, based on the details of each and what ensues from them?
The three aforementioned divorces are effective, and the wife's insistence or intimidating the first wife does not prevent their efficacy.
If the husband had consummated the marriage with the wife before these divorces, then all of them have occurred, and she is irrevocably divorced from him with a major divorce (baynunah kubra). He cannot take her back until she marries another man out of genuine desire, and he consummates the marriage with her, and then he divorces her or dies, and her waiting period () expires.
However, if he was in a valid seclusion with her (khalwah sahihah) but did not consummate the marriage, the majority of scholars hold that the separation occurs with the first divorce. The Hanbalis consider a valid seclusion as equivalent to consummation, and this is the relied-upon opinion for issuing fatwas.
