Is there not, in the phrases mentioned in Fatwa No. (101539) which touch the depths of the heart, "Can you commit this bad habit in front of your family and siblings?... Do you know that you are doing it in front of the Lord of the heavens and the earth?!" a coupling of the glorification of the Creator with the glorification of the created, and a placing of respect for people when committing a sin in private on par with respect for Allah Almighty, even though the degree of respect for Allah far exceeds what we show to people, and therefore, no analogy or comparison should be made between them?

The answer clarifies the difference between being mindful of Allah Almighty and a man's state with his family. Being mindful of Allah leads to perfecting obedience and shunning disobedience. It emphasizes that reminding a Muslim to be mindful of Allah Almighty is for someone who commits sins secretly, not for someone who commits them openly or in matters where concealment is obligatory, such as shaving pubic hair, relieving oneself, and engaging in intercourse. It cites prophetic traditions (hadiths) and narrations from the righteous predecessors (athar salafiyyah) confirming that Allah is more deserving of modesty than people. It also states that modesty towards Allah, similar to modesty towards a righteous man or a person of dignity, motivates a servant to avoid sins in secret and in public. Furthermore, whoever achieves this mindfulness is among the muhsineen (those who excel), who worship Allah as if they see Him.
