Is wishing for Allah not to bless one with a female child a sin, out of fear that the father may not be able to compel her to observe the شرعي hijab and the teachings of the religion? And is the father or husband sinful if he is unable to compel his daughter or wife to do so?

There is no religious prohibition in wishing not to be blessed with a female child out of fear of falling short in her upbringing. However, it is more befitting to submit to Allah and be content with what He decrees, for raising daughters holds great merit and reward for those who excel and purify their intentions. If a parent fulfills their duty towards their children, there is no sin upon them if the children disobey, for no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another.
