Is it permissible to make up for Qiyam al-Layl between Fajr and Dhuhr if there is any excuse preventing its performance at its [prescribed] time? What should a person intend when making it up? Is laziness an acceptable excuse for that? Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) lengthen his Qiyam in the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah?

Whoever was prevented from Qiyam al-Layl (night prayer) by sleep or pain is permitted to make it up between Fajr and Dhuhr prayers with the intention of making it up. It will be recorded for him as if he prayed it at night. As for one who abandoned it due to laziness, there is no evidence to support the permissibility of making it up. Regarding the Prophet's Qiyam (night prayer) during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, the Sunnah indicates that his prayer was consistent throughout the year, and he did not increase it in Ramadan or at any other time beyond eleven rak'ahs, as reported in the Sahihayn from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).
