What is the ruling on working in the financial administration department or any other department in a company that provides catering services to a public entity, given that the supervisors of this entity provide the company with excess quantities of food, which financially benefits the company owner, with the knowledge of some managers or in exchange for financial benefit for others? And do personal circumstances, such as the difficulty of finding another job or the security constraints, affect the ruling? And is it permissible to continue working out of necessity until the end of the children's academic year?
There is no objection to remaining in the aforementioned job so long as there is nothing religiously forbidden. If the concerned authorities have granted permission to the managers for what they are doing, then there is no objection to cooperating with them. Otherwise, it is not permissible to cooperate with any of them in injustice or sin, for Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." (Al-Ma'idah: 2).
