What is the authenticity of what is mentioned in some Shiite books, that Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) wanted to marry Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her)? What was Aisha's (may Allah be pleased with her) reaction to that? And did the matter end after the revelation of the verse from Surat al-Ahzab, or was the issue raised again?

The summary of the Fatwa is as follows:

Attacking the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, especially Umm Al-Mu'minin Aisha, is a practice of those who deviate. Love for the companions is a matter of religion, faith, and righteousness, while hatred for them is disbelief, hypocrisy, and tyranny. What has been narrated about Talha ibn Ubayd Allah's desire to marry Aisha after the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is false and fabricated. It has not been authentically reported through any chain, as all its narrations are weak, corrupt, and fabricated. This falsehood has been narrated through three channels from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, all of which are corrupt and very weak. It has also been narrated from some of the Tabi'un (followers), and these narrations are also weak and unreliable. The correct view is that this report is not authentic regarding Talha ibn Ubayd Allah, nor regarding any other of the noble companions. If this statement were true, it would only be fitting for hypocrites.
