The answer

Adultery is one of the gravest abominations, and Allah has warned against it, saying: "And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way." (Quran 17:32). The punishment for an adulterer in this world is one hundred lashes and one year of exile for the unmarried, and stoning for the married (muhsan). Adultery becomes more heinous and a greater sin for an old man due to his age and the soundness of his mind, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There are three whom Allah will not speak to on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, nor will He look at them, and they will have a painful torment: an old adulterer, a lying king, and an arrogant poor person." Whoever falls into adultery must repent sincerely to Allah and feel remorse. Inability to marry does not permit adultery; rather, one must fast if unable to marry.
