Is it permissible to perform surgery to reshape a nose that has grown longer, become humped, and slightly deviated, given that its owner sometimes suffers from shortness of breath due to a deviated septum, feels shame and psychological frustration, and his studies have deteriorated because of his appearance, taking into consideration that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted one of the Muslims to get a nose after his nose was cut off?

Rhinoplasty or dental surgery is permissible to remove a defect or deformity, such as a deviated nose or breathing problems, or a disfiguring birth defect. It is not permissible if the intention is to seek beauty and enhance appearance.
