What is the ruling on a wife leaving the house without her husband's permission after he has forbidden her from doing so?

A woman is not permitted to leave her home without her husband's permission. If she leaves without his permission and without necessity, she is considered disobedient (nashiz). If the husband forbids his wife from going out, she must obey him. Nevertheless, the husband should consider his wife's situation and her need to go out. If she is righteous and committed, he should sometimes permit her if she needs to, as long as he does not fear harm or negligence in her household affairs. This fosters affection and avoids discord.
