What is the explanation of the Hadith: "Indeed, Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred minus one, whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise," with clarification of the meaning of enumeration?

Scholars have differed on the meaning of the Hadith "Whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise." Al-Nawawi favored the interpretation that it means memorizing the Beautiful Names of Allah, as it was explained in another narration as "Whoever memorizes them." It was also said that the meaning is to act upon them, not merely to count and memorize them. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar held that the most probable meaning includes enumerating them, memorizing them, and acting upon them. Acting upon the Beautiful Names of Allah involves affirming the names exclusive to Him, such as Al-Wahid (the One), and emulating the meanings of the names whose attributes are desirable to embody, such as Al-Rahim (the Most Merciful).
