What is the ruling on eating meat that has been denatured in alcohol or wine before being cooked?

The prohibition of alcohol (khamr) in Islam is a matter known by necessity of the religion and is among the major sins. Allah has forbidden its use in any form. Therefore, it is not permissible to use it in food or drink in any way. The Shafi'is and Hanbalis have explicitly stated that whoever cooks meat with alcohol and eats from its broth is subject to the prescribed punishment (hadd). The Hanafis disliked eating anything kneaded with alcohol due due to the impurity of the dough, which is not purified by baking. Thus, it is not permissible to tenderize meat with alcohol or to marinate it in it. A Muslim must boycott restaurants that use alcohol in their food, and admonish their owners and warn people against them.
