It is impermissible to work on developing a computer program if it is highly probable that usurious banks will use it to calculate usurious interest, as this constitutes cooperation in sin and transgression. However, if the program or its part specific to interest calculation can be used for both lawful and unlawful purposes, and it is not highly probable that it will be used for unlawful purposes, then there is no objection to completing it. Nevertheless, it is preferable to avoid it unless refraining from it would result in harm, such as being dismissed from a job that you cannot do without.
