Is it permissible to work as a computer engineer for a company that develops software allowing customers to view details of their loans (such as loan value, remaining amount, and installment due date), knowing that the company does not offer loan application services?

Usurious banks deal in one of the gravest sins. Those who work in them – the owners of capital, shareholders, management, employees, programmers, guards, and drivers – all share in the sin. The one who consumes usury, its giver, its scribe, and its two witnesses are all cursed, and their sin is equal, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Allah has cursed the one who consumes usury, its giver, its scribe, and its two witnesses, and he said: 'They are all equal.'" As for the rest of the employees, they are cooperating in sin and aggression, which is forbidden by the Qur'an's text: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression." This prohibition includes any work in usurious banks, even guarding or maintaining their systems and programs. It is obligatory to cease assisting such banks and to engage in permissible work. Whoever abandons the forbidden for the sake of Allah, Allah will grant them success, provide for them, and ease their affairs, in confirmation of His saying (the Most High): "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect."
