Is it true that the Hadith was not written down until centuries after the Prophet’s (PBUH) death, which led to the inclusion of elements not belonging to it, and that Imam Al-Bukhari selected only 6,000 hadiths out of 200,000, with fabricated hadiths present among them? And is it true that Omar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to beat Abu Hurairah and pursue him because of his frequent narration of hadiths to people?

The prophetic Hadith (definition) was not written centuries after the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; rather, the Companions used to write and memorize it during his lifetime. Then, the compilation and collection of Hadith began during the era of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz.

What was interpolated into the prophetic Hadith that is not part of it is true, however, the scholars of Hadith clarified the fabricated elements using precise scientific criteria, among which are the conditions that the narrator must be trustworthy and accurate, the chain of narration must be continuous, and the Hadith must be free from irregularity (shadhudh) and defects (illal). Scholars have authored books on weak, fabricated, and authentic Hadith.

The statement that Umar used to forbid Abu Hurayrah from narrating too many Hadiths is true, out of fear that people would be distracted by Hadith from the Qur'an. As for what was reported about him chasing and hitting him, there is no chain of narration for it.

Combining the Qur'an and Hadith is religiously مطلوب (required) and an emphatic wajib (definition) (obligation).
