Is what I do — looking at pictures of my deceased father, talking to him, and wishing to see him in a dream — forbidden (haram) and does it imply discontent with divine decree and destiny (qada wal-qadar) or a lack of patience?

We advise her to refrain from displaying pictures of her father, as the original ruling concerning displaying full-head images is prohibition, and the majority of jurists have ruled them to be forbidden. This may also lead to exaggeration and glorification. She should seek help through supplication and prayer, frequently read texts on encouragement and discouragement, keep company with good people, fill her time with beneficial knowledge and worship, utilize the internet for research and academic lessons, and allocate a program that includes permissible educational and recreational aspects.
