How can a Muslim love someone for the sake of Allah?

Love for the sake of Allah is an emotional bond stemming from a person's obedience and uprightness, and it carries immense reward. Those who love one another for the sake of Allah's majesty will have pulpits of light, and Allah's love is due to those who love one another for His sake. It is recommended to inform the beloved of one's love for them for the sake of Allah. The two criteria for love for the sake of Allah are: that the love increases with the beloved's increasing obedience to Allah and decreases with their decreasing obedience, and that Allah's pleasure is prioritized when it conflicts with the beloved's pleasure.
