What is the ruling on being preoccupied with a phone and browsing the internet at the mosque door, or smoking during the Friday sermon?

Listening to the Friday sermon is obligatory, and it is not permissible to be distracted from it by browsing a phone or similar devices. Smoking is forbidden, and its prohibition becomes more severe during the sermon, as it occurs during this noble time and is considered a prohibited form of idleness. Jurists have explicitly stated the dislike of idleness during the sermon, such as fiddling with one's beard. Sheikh Al-Fawzan stated that it is not permissible to fiddle with a mobile phone during the Friday sermon; rather, one must listen and pay attention. Jurists have also explicitly stated the dislike of drinking water during the sermon, so how much more so for smoking. As for browsing a mobile phone at the mosque's entrance outside of the Friday sermon, there is no harm in it, as long as one is not browsing something forbidden.
