Is it permissible for a father to grant one of his sons a shop because he does not own a home, while he granted the rest of his children apartments?

The fatwa we follow obligates equality among children in gifts and endowments, unless one of them has a need that necessitates preferring him. If your father's gift of this shop to you constitutes a preference over your siblings, then it is impermissible, and he is obligated to equalize among all of them. However, if all the siblings consent with good grace to what your father gave you, then there is no harm in that, based on the statement in "Ghayat al-Muntaha": "And preference is permissible with the permission of the remaining heirs; otherwise, he sins, and he must revoke [the gift] if possible, or give until they are equal."
