Is a Muslim considered sinful if he attends gatherings where alcohol is served due to the nature of his work, without him partaking in the drinking, and would his avoidance of such gatherings affect his job?

Allah has favored this nation with the command to enjoin good and forbid evil. As a Muslim, you must be proud of the rituals of your religion and apply them, and not commit forbidden acts. Staying in places where alcohol is consumed is an act of disobedience, for Allah has commanded us not to sit in places of wrongdoing, otherwise, we would be like those who commit them, as in His Almighty saying: "And He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah being denied and ridiculed, do not sit with them until they engage in another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them." And His saying: "And when you see those who engage in [blasphemous] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the recollection with the wrongdoing people." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart—and that is the weakest of faith." Denunciation by the heart is an individual obligation, and remaining in a gathering of wrongdoing contradicts this denunciation. The Prophet forbade sitting at a table where alcohol is drunk, saying: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not sit at a table where alcohol is drunk." Leave these wrongdoings and seek reward for that from your Lord, for "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect."
