Until when will the backwardness of Islamic nations end?

The backwardness and defeat of Muslims will end when they change what is within themselves, adhere to their religion, and seek glory through it; in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: "Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves," and His saying: "Do they seek honor and might with them? But indeed, honor and might belong to Allah entirely." Umar ibn al-Khattab said: "We are a people whom Allah has honored with Islam, and whenever we seek honor in other than it, Allah will humiliate us." Malik ibn Anas said: "The latter part of this Ummah will not be set right except by that which set right its first part."
