Why have the Arab countries' circumstances devolved into ruin and destruction, while the lands of disbelievers, polytheists, and atheists are in the best of conditions?

The foundation of the Ummah's elevation, glory, and progress lies in adherence to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet. When faith and righteous deeds are achieved, Allah promises succession and empowerment on earth, as He Almighty said: "Allah has promised those among you who have believed and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth." History has proven this, as Muslims once dominated the world by adhering to their religion. As for the reason for the decline of Arabs and Muslims in recent centuries, it is their distance from religion, which caused them to lose their glory. Umar ibn al-Khattab spoke truly when he said: "We were the most humiliated people, and Allah honored us with Islam. So, if we seek honor through anything other than that by which Allah honored us, Allah will humiliate us." Whenever the Ummah returns to its adherence to its religion, its glory and honor will return to it.
