Is it permissible to fast with the intention of saving money, and is that considered stinginess?

Fasting is an act of worship to Allah Almighty and is not valid if the intention is to save and economize. So, whoever's primary motivation for fasting is to save money, it is feared that they will have no reward for it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, actions are by intentions, and every person will have what he intended." If reducing expenses does not result in harm to oneself or a shortcoming in duties, then there is no blame in it, and it is not considered stinginess.
