What is the meaning of drawing near to Allah, what are its delights, how can I instill the love of Allah in my heart, and what is its relationship to achieving servitude to Him?

Proximity to Allah Almighty, His love, and His pleasure are the greatest blessings that the friends of Allah enjoy. This is greater than the material delights of Paradise, as Ibn al-Qayyim stated. The path to this lies in sincere repentance and turning to Allah, striving diligently in His obedience, and prioritizing what pleases Him over one's own desires, by drawing near to Him through obligatory acts and supererogatory deeds. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by an arm's length; and whoever draws near to Me by an arm's length, I draw near to him by a fathom. And if he comes to Me walking, I come to him running." And also his saying: "My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have enjoined upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory deeds until I love him."
