What is the jurisprudential ruling on someone who buys fuel and sells it in another country for profit?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

An adult, sane person has the right to dispose of their wealth and sell what they rightfully own, as Allah Almighty says: "And Allah has permitted trade." There is no difference between gasoline and other commodities. Therefore, residents of border areas are permitted to sell the gasoline they bought and filled their car tanks with in neighboring countries, unless it is proven that this act harms the exporting country and the country has issued a law prohibiting this trade. In such a case, the law must be adhered to, because public interest takes precedence over private interest.
