Trading in tobacco is forbidden (haram). If this person repents, "what has passed is his," and he is not required to dispose of what he acquired from that forbidden trade. Ibn Taymiyyah said: "Whoever earned unlawful money with the consent of the payer, and then repented, what has passed is his, and he is not required to dispose of it, based on Allah's saying: 'So whoever receives an admonition from his Lord and desists, then what has passed is his, and his affair is committed to Allah.'"
