What is the ruling on trading in raw tobacco that is sold to factories which manufacture cigarettes, knowing that the merchant is a Muslim residing in Western countries?

Selling tobacco to cigarette manufacturing companies is forbidden (haram) because it constitutes cooperation in sin and aggression. Cigarettes are prohibited due to their severe harm, and they are among the impure things (khaba'ith) upon which scholars have agreed. There is no difference whether they are sold to companies owned by Muslims or disbelievers. A Muslim should not be deceived by abundant illicit gain, and should remember the words of Allah Almighty: "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect."
