What is the ruling on raising the voice during the call to prayer (adhan) in a way that harms worshippers and others, and do the hadiths (prophetic narrations) regarding raising the voice for the adhan apply to the adhan within a building rather than in a mosque?

The one performing the call to prayer (adhan) either calls it for a group not present with him, or for himself, or for a group present with him. If he calls it for a group not present with him, some scholars stipulate raising the voice for the purpose of informing, and this is the correct view, but without an excessive, harmful exaggeration. However, if he calls it for himself or for a group present with him in a private place, raising the voice is not stipulated beyond what is sufficient for them to hear, and the more apparent view is that increasing it is not recommended.
