The fundamental principle is that the five daily prayers are time-bound, with specific timings that do not permit advancement or delay, except for the traveler, who is allowed to combine Dhuhr and Asr, and Maghrib and Isha, either by performing them earlier (jama' taqdim) or later (jama' ta'khir). The time for congregational prayer is not restricted to the very beginning of its time; rather, it can be performed at the beginning, the end, or in the middle of its time. Combining prayers means joining one prayer with the other, and the traveler performs what is more convenient for him.
