What is the ruling on someone who swore an oath and made a vow not to do a single thing—is there one expiation upon him or two expiations?

Whoever breaks an oath to abandon something, and also vowed to abandon it, owes a single expiation. This is because the oath and the vow overlap in terms of expiation due to the unity of their type and cause, which is the breaking of the commitment. Its expiation is feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. If one cannot find these, then fasting for three days.
